TRIBUTE TO MAUD

All year around Maud works with unbounded enthusiasm to ensure that the annual May homecoming event will once again offer us a chance to come together for worship and fellowship in Lower Peach Tree.

As she expresses it, "I wish to convey to 'the world' that my greatest joy is in seeing families and friends reunited once more in their hometown; hearing about the good times that were enjoyed in the town in years gone by; being emotionally touched by the love for ancestors buried in the Lower Peach Tree Cemetery many of whom were never seen by their descendants but are so greatly respected and appreciated; and of great satisfaction in knowing that the Fifth Sunday Services and Annual Homecoming have enabled the Lower Peach Tree United Methodist Church to remain an active place of worship and to grow in membership."

We are grateful for Maud's unfailing love of others which drives her to complete her many tasks each year. May she continue for many more years enriching our lives and inspiring us to be the best that we can be.

In keeping with the 30th anniversary theme Maud wears her lovely stand of pearls. See more photos of ladies in pearls on this page.

May 22, 2011 was a bright and sunny day, perfect for celebrating a landmark anniversary homecoming.

First to greet homecomers was this sign which Maud Garrick and Ted Davis had made in nearby Thomasville several years ago. It is an exact replica of the worn-out original one. This sign was donated to us in 2005 by Ted's church.
